Why are most sports gay or bi curious exploration? I mean come on look at ufc and mma they are the gayest sports ever invented. | Dude. *lol* Not even close.
The NFL--National Football League, a.k.a gridiron, a.k.a. American Football--has so much more "gayness" going on for it than any other sport ever could, it's not even funny. Really, it makes the UFC look straight-forward by comparison. Yes, mixed martial arts have sweaty grown men hugging each other, lord forgive us....
The NFL has:
--Sweaty grown men tackling each other,
--Sweaty grown men in nylon, lycra and spandex,
--Sweaty grown men in shoulder pads and reinforced jockstraps,
--Touchdowns, in an *End Zone*,
--Sweaty grown men slapping each other's "end zones",
--Cornerbacks,
--Tight Ends,
--Wide Receivers,
--Linebackers,
--Rotations,
--Penetrating the Line of Scrimmage,
--Unnecessary Roughness,
--Excessive Celebrations,
--Sweaty grown men in facepaint--makeup by any other name.....
--Teams named after things like "Dolphins" and "Chargers", never mind the "Oilers" or "Steelers", ouch,
--Color-coded everything,
--Pigskin leather flying everywhere,
--Plays broken up into "Downs", with it all about it getting "First Down",
--And never mind something called a "Quarterback Sneak".
Good lord. How anyone can watch the Super Bowl with a dirty mind and not feel *absolutely* gay is beyond me. NFL-style football is the only sport on the planet to feature....
Male Cheerleaders.
'Nuff said, right? ^__^ | In your opinion, why would you say that Nascar is the fastest growing intrest amongst gay sports fans? Is it the hum of the engine or the constant popping of ze clutch? | | THey have a think for JR. | Is it hard to be a gay sports enthusiast? Do you ever find it hard to follow a game or anything because the athletes are so attractive, causing you to get aroused while looking at them, and therefore unable to focus on the game? | | Not really. Although sometimes in sports like basketball, soccer, ones where they have little protection on it might be hard I guess. I never have much of a problem with it, unless its on tv and they zoom in on a face and I go...oh hes cute. But thats about it. I usually watch hockey and football so its not a problem then because you can't see the faces or bodies. | Gay guys: How do you respond to the question, "Do you follow sports?"? Obviously a lot of gay guys like sports, but I'm not one of them. It always bugs me... that I fit into that stereotype of gay guys. So when someone asks, I always feel awkward. Sometimes I lie and other times I just say that I don't follow any sports closely.
My family was never really a sports family.
How do you guys handle it in your own lives? Do you think it's still some weird internalized homophobia or is it just me being socially awkward? | | I respond by saying that I don't really follow it. I enjoy attending the occasional game. I've been to lots of baseball games, and I always have fun. I just don't care about following the teams or watching it on tv. Of course, hot sports guys are always a plus. | Do you think some gay people only play sports to see and touch people? Seriously what do you think? Do some gay people really like playing the sport, or are they only doing it to touch people and see people change in the locker room?
Oh yeah I have another question if anybody can answer it. Why is it said that any girl that plays soccer or volleyball, one of those sports I forgot which one exactly, why is it said that they are lesbians if they play that sport? | | Did you really just ask this question? Oh and it is usually girl who plays softball.(but that is only a stereotype) I play soccer and all of them except me are straight. I just enjoy sports, I love playing them and I love the competitive spirit. I cannot believe that you would even ask that. You have to be straight and ignorant.Yeah and cause' we are gay we love every girl/boy and want to see all of them naked. That is so wrong. | Does it make sense for a guy to call another guy gay for not liking sports? If a guy doesn't like sports other guys call him gay but does this really make sense since they're the ones watching guys basically touching each other and getting all sweaty on tv? | | no. I hate sports, and I get "hey there, sexy man" looks from strange women all the time, and I like it. | GAY GUYS - Do you feel you gave up too early on sports because you knew you were gay? I knew early on I was gay and subsequently gave up on sports or let fear make my decisions for me. Everyone said I was a talented athlete and was shocked when I quit trying. My reason at the time was because I knew how athletes felt about gays in sports and let that guide my decisions. Do you feel that you sacrificed a potentially successful career in sports because you knew you were gay? | I always played Rugby and did some athletics in High School. I was never brilliant at it, nor was I bad.
My decision to not continue with sports after school maybe had something to do with the fact that I was attracted to guys, and felt intimidated by them and afraid they could find out. But overall I was in a college with world class jocks, so I just couldn't really compete. So, yes maybe if I continued in a more avarage team, I would have been able to achieve some success. I started playing some tennis again a few years back and also some social basketball with my friends. I also compete in some social paintball league and joined a scuba diving club(not that it is real sport, but keeps me active)!
The older you get (I'm 29) and the less competative an environment is, the less people seem to really care about your sexuality. I can never become a pro though, but I enjoy competing on a social level.
It is a pity for you though, if you were good and didn't continue, but hey, there are many other sports that you can take up socially. You never know, maybe you can excel at something you never expected and become a pro! Like golf or so.
You should however consider the other side of the story and ask: "How many gay guys gave up arts, drama and music early, because they were afraid people could find out about their sexuality."
I personally gave up music and drama early in life, although I was brilliant at it. It was always accepted to be gay activities, so in High School I choce to rather be mediocre in sport than brilliant in a "gay" activity.
Interesting question! | Why is it so hard to find a gay guy that likes sports? I know there are tons of straight guys that likes sports, but it seems it's an extreme rough in the diamond to find a gay guy who likes sports. Most of them I've talked to don't know anything about baseball, soccer, football, tennis and it would be cool to meet at least one gay guy who is into that. Same with video games, all the gays I met are all either into tanning/gam 24/7, shopping at the mall, or talking about reality shows/stuff on CW network. | | I'm gay and I like sports and videogames. | Are there any other gay guys that like professional sports? It seems that I am the only gay male that loves watching and playing sports, almost all of the gay guys I've met(around 60-70) hate sports and thinks it's too manly or too much of a "straight" boy activity. I'm not into stuff like fashion or shopping or girly stuff, I'm a boy afterall lol. I was wondering if there were other dudes that likes sports as well. | You sound like me: I like sports a lot and hate shopping. There are other guys like us out there, but they are probably out playing sports as opposed to 'slutting it up' in some trashy gay club.
I'm also into video games - which many gay guys don't like. I'm sure if you look hard enough you'll find someone who likes sport. | Apart from Volleyball, what other gay sports can I involve myself in? that would make me lose weight and tone up muscles. | | I didn't know volleyball was a gay sport. |
