Although Jimmy Young beat an unfocussed Foreman, did he arguably beat Ali, Norton and Shavers also? Did Young arguably beat Muhammad Ali, Ken Norton and Earnie Shavers in their rematch as well? |
Jimmy was robbed in his fight against Ali and Norton. The man simply knows how to out think his opponents in the ring. Too bad he has the mental attitude of a Clottey - he lack a killer instinct. In a hypothetical rematch scenario, i could still see him outboxing them and still be declared the loser because of lack of effort.
Against Shavers, it think the ref prematurely stopped the first fight in favor of Earnie but i still think Jimmy wouldve lost anyway in the end. He was young, unpolished and cocky in this fight. The second match was a boring draw. In a later rematch however, i see an older Jimmy Young winning the same way he beat another big puncher, George Foreman. |
Did Jimmy Young beat Ali, Norton and Shavers? We all know Jimmy beat Foreman and Lyle but did he also get robbed of beating Ali, Norton and Shavers? Although Shavers did destroy him in one round in 1973 in their first bout but the second bout finished a draw which many people say Young should have won. And if JImmy got these decisions would we be talking about him as the greatest of his generation? Although Ali was still only 34 when they fought he was overweight and under trained to be fair. |

The Ali fight was a weird one, but Ali definitely won it. Young was smart and quick but Ali landed everything and pushed him around and generally was too strong for him. Young also did this thing where he'd purposefully put his upper body through the ropes and blatantly hide when Ali was in a position to open up on him which I saw very unsportsman like.

What is the point of wet shavers? I watch the TV commercials for shavers you take into the shower with you and some big, muscled, sexy young dude is practically having sex with it.
All those suds and muscles and the shaver is practically a phallus .
I keep expecting him to put it in a not very nice place.
Well I tried one and it not only did not work very well it failed to get me hot too. |
| Shaving in the shower is helpful when you need to get a really close shave and it also helps prevent irritation as well as ingrown hairs... If you are shaving while the water is cold then none of the above applies. But if you relax in the warm water your skin will expand and your hair follicles will rest and expand... As for the ingrown hairs and irritation that usually happens when you shave multiple times per week... But warm water in the shower helps as well as laying a warm washcloth on the area you would like to shave... As for the guy making love to his electro razor well that's just good old fashion television advertising... Always remember for some reason that sex sells! |
At what age should a young girl first start shaving her legs? (and under arms). What method do you think is best for first time shavers? razor, electric shaver, nair cream? |
There isn't a set age. It depends on maturity (will she be able to handle a razor without hurting herself?) and need (does she really need to shave or is it an "all my friends shave" thing?). I started when I was 11 or 12. Gym class drove me up a wall because we had to wear shorts and my hair is dark, so you could tell I didn't shave yet. None of the girls ever said anything to me about it, but some boys would tease me.
I wouldn't go for nair because that can irritate skin, and a bad rash can be more embarrassing than hairy legs. Get her a good razor, not the cheap disposable ones, and make sure that she uses shaving gel. It helped me my first time. |
Is it alright for a young teenager to cut his pewbs about halfway? Cause last night I tryed to colored them black with this black die and it got all hard and wouldn't come out. So i had to use my brothers electric shaver to shave it half way. It feels like i lost my man hood :( |
| I'm sure it's very normal. Some people are very self concious about their pubes, and it is nothing to be worried out. I would personally wait for the hair to naturally grow back, and then attempt the dye job again. Maybe look into buying a dye espically created for pubes. |
Best overall electric shaver?? Best electric shaver for a young man in his early 20s??? I need to change mine and I am looking for a really good one that will last a long time and shave well and fast (and comfortable). Price is not an issue as long as it doesn't go above $150 I am not going to pay more than that...... Also, I prefer one of those that you can use right away and you can clean with water, rather than those that have shaving lotion. I don't need the shaving lotion extra that some electric shavers have because I won't use it anyways. I have slightly sensitive skin and minor acne, so that's why I want to stay away from normal razors and shaving cream. Also, it would be good if this shaver is rechargeable through electric power, no batteries.
I need to shave more often than before and it is annoying, I need a better shaver than this cheap shaver of mine. THANKS!!!! :) |

Are there any heavyweight boxing contenders (but never champs) that should be considered in top 20 greats? When people list the all time heavyweight greats they always list the champs (Ali, Loui, Holmes, etc.). But, should some of the contenders, that never made champ, be considered too? Shavers? Young? Sam Langford? Jerry Quarry? Anybody? |
| Sam Langford, Lew Tendler, and Charley Burley would be top contenders but never champs that should be in any GOAT list. Among the 3, Sam Langford would be the only clear cut top 20 guy and is the only one who competed in the HW division. Langford however won a HW belt, the Mexican version (not exactly an important title but still), so that leaves him off your criteria. |
Advice for moustache shaving for young male teen? Has sensitive skin and has therefore been delaying the inevitable. Is it true shaving will stimulate the hair to grow faster and thicker? Should shaving be put off as late as possible? What method do you suggest - foam and razor or electric shaver? Any sensible advice welcome.
Thank you. |
| Razor is the best. Electric always made my face break out. A good quality razor like Gillette Fusion or Fusion Power (what I use). I also use Edge gel for sensitive skin. Like you said it's inevitable so might as well start. Splash your face with hot water before you apply the save gel. Good luck! |
My 11 year old wants to shave her legs. I think that she is too young. Any one out there with answers? She insist that all of her classmates are shaving their legs regularly and she is only in the fifth grade. She has taken (with out permission) my razors and electric shaver and used them on herself a couple of times. I have told her that I think she should wait until she is 14 or 15 years old to shave, however she keeps bringing up the subject and refuseds to let it die. I am so tired of the sulking because I say no and the sneeking to get the job done. The last time she did she cut her ankel area and wore a bandage for a week. I am at a disadvantage here as she can be very strong headed. I want what is best for her. Is there anyone out there with some good advice. I can sure use it. |
I started around 5th grade, age 11. Girls start puberty at different ages. If she feels her legs are hairy, let her do it. It's a self-confidence thing. Allowing this kind of thing--especially coupled with teaching her the proper way to do it and some good communication--will definitely help solve some problems.
Give in to some of these small battles now so you'll stand a better chance of winning the big ones (smoking, sex) later because she'll know that you're willing to compromise and communicate. The little things that make guyren want to rebel can escalate very quickly. Pick your battles. |
Young Head Shaver - Perceptions? I am 22 years old and since I was 19, I have been shaving my head almost down to the skin (e.g. no guard on the electric buzzer thing). I have never really had any problems with people overtly perceiving me as being some sort of white supremacist, cancer patient, or the like, but I am concerned that people do view me like this...
Any thoughts? If the skinhead image is the first thing that would come to mind in most people, isn't that racist? |
| I don't think having your head shaved signals to the world that you're racist. If you got a swastika tattooed on it, maybe, but I definitely wouldn't assume someone was a white supremacist for having a shaved head. Cancer pateint is a bit of a stretch, too. Don't worry about what other people think; if they judge you by your hairstyle, then they are just as prejudiced as they think you are. |
